mid-debate perspective

President Bush is even less articulate than usual tonight, in my opinion. Against almost anyone else, that might be fatal. However, John Kerry's mind-numbing recitation of his stump speech points might give me an aneurysm. Kerry needed to hit a homerun tonight. So far, it hasn't happened.

1 The best analogy I heard was football. It's 4th & 1, Kerry's on his own 10 yard line getting ready to punt. The snap gets bungled, but somehow the kicker manages to run it out to the 11 yard line. So Kerry's still got some life in him, but he's still deep in his own territory, and his quarterback still sucks :-)
