Some common sense

Harvey posits an idea that I'd be glad to support. Excerpt:

There's a thought I've had for years, but rarely dare to speak publicly, lest I be branded some sort of hate-monger, but here it is:

If you get direct payments from the government, you don't get to vote.

Why? Because you've been bribed. There's a direct conflict of interest. If a judge had a direct financial stake in the outcome of a trial, he'd have to recuse himself. Why should voting be any different?

1 I pay taxes, don't i have a financial conflict of interests? I work for a Defense Contractor, do I have a financial conflict of interest? What about those in the military? Everyone has some sort of financial conlfict of interest, some more than others.

2 How in the hell can you be stupid enough to write what Dan Hendrickson wrote and still have a job? Especially with a defense contractor. Let me use simple language so Dan can understand. It is because you pay taxes you should be allowed to vote; it makes you a shareholder in the country. The fact that you work for a defense contractor would make me assume (hopefully) that you are contributing to the defense of this country. People who actually receive charity from the taxpayers are not paying any taxes, and are actually part of an organized crime syndicate. This even includes people who languish in minimum wage jobs and receive the damned "Earned Income Tax Credit" a form of Orwellian newspeak if there ever was one. I'll go one better on the original idea. If you pay no income tax - and FICA does NOT count - you get no vote. For every additional five thousand dollars in taxes you pay, you get an additional vote. Kind of like owning shares in a company. How do you like me NOW!!!

3 I forgot the most important thing. We need to get as much grassroots support as possible for H.R. 25 the FAIR TAX bill, sponsored by Rep. John Linder. Go to Fairtax.org and study it. I mean study it. Don't come back with any lame reasons why it won't work. Carry on.
