If you know me on this issue, you know that I am very, very upset.
I don't know what Megan thought was going to happen when Obama won. The fact that this action was entirely predictable is beside the point. Or not. Really, really not.

It was wishful thinking. And a tiny bit of insanity.
When I saw my choices, I chose to realize the person who would be president (Clinton, McCain, Obama, Huckabee, WHOEVER!) was going to make a mess of things. I at least made a lot of jokes and enjoyed the campaigns, because it was hysterical.
It helps to be a scot-irish taoist. The dark humor comes naturally.
Other people, I think, didn't allow themselves to believe what their mind knew, and instead threw themselves into hoping for a hero. I admit, I supported Bush more than I should have, looking back. But I was a new mom and I needed a hero. I was still critical of a ton of what he did, but I probably should have been more so.
